The fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq has come and gone - but the war is still real.
Meanwhile....
As the UK's asylum laws are being called into question by both Houses of Parliament, with more and more voices raised in protest at what are increasingly coming to be seen as an un-Christian response in individual cases, the Churches' Refugee Network Annual Conference takes place on 17th May in Birmingham.
Birmingham is the focus of another event on May 18 - 10 years (can you believe it?!) afterJubilee 2000 protesters created a human chain around the G8 Summit in the city. Journey to Justice will provide another opportunity to review progress on debt cancellation and increase our demands for a lasting solution to the debt crisis afflicting so many nations.
Many of the children still alive in Dafur were not born when the conflict started five years ago. Stop! Childhood Under Attack is the global day for Dafur on Sunday 13 April. Specially written prayers and other material are available for inclusion in our worship on that day.
The 50th anniversary of the first Aldermaston March, the biblical call to serve refugees, and Not For Sale Sunday (the campaign to end sex trafficking) are just some of the other issues covered in the latest newsletter from the Joint Public Issue team.
It takes less than 10 minutes to read - what better can you do with your time?
